From a dig. Interesting but predictable race from start to finish.

pretty interesting, despite being predictable it is interesting to understand the results in light of the difference in HP.

What did we learn? And no, the lesson here isn't that street racing is cool.

That people who do stupid things buy their Corvettes with torque converters.

The Mustang has what.... 210 extra ponies under the hood?
But I also don't think he had Launch Control on, that start seemed way too slow.

true. Driver error could be pretty big in instances like this.
Either way, the HP wars mean almost nothing in the bigger picture. Especially when Mustang fanboys scream about their 650hp monster and compare it to the quicker cars a la 911, corvette, etc.

Alright Mr. Corvette fanboy. I'm going to go ahead and say that this video's GT500 driver is 100% to blame for the loss
How's this going to work? At the drag strip, it doesn't. The 2014 Shelby GT500 hustles to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds (3.8 seconds with 1 foot of rollout as on a drag strip) and finishes the quarter-mile in 12.1 seconds. Our 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray hits those marks in 4.3 and 12.4 seconds on the same 91-octane gas.

I wasn't trying to be a fan boy, I was merely stating that it isn't all in the HP numbers. Though, to be honest, I don't see why a mustang wouldn't be quicker in a straight line with that kind of HP. As I said, driver error could be a pretty big in instances like this.

Mustang should be faster in a straight line and all the numbers support that. So this driver just screwed up and/or didn't know what he was doing. Judging by the fact that they're irresponsibly street racing like that, I'm going to guess its more of the latter than the former.
But give the cars a track with corners and the Corvette will be gone with the wind. But then again, its a brand new sports car going up against what essentially is a 9 year old muscle car with a big supercharger strapped to a truck engine connected to a truck rear end. Its designed for straight lines. Now the next Shelby should change that. If what they're saying about the 2015 Mustang is true, the Shelby will only make that better. I can see it going up against the Z06 even on the curviest of tracks. Only time will tell.

Well it could be Der911, Das911 or Die911 with Der being masculine.
